Erika has defied the odds within motorsport.
A self made driver who started out with nothing, Erika is now racing in one of the top series in North America.
Erika Hoffmann is a Canadian racing driver with a nontraditional path into motorsport. Starting out with no experience, no funding and no connections, Erika has achieved a childhood dream that once felt impossibly out of reach.
As a kid, Erika was captivated by driving. However, motorsport felt a million miles away from her. The only drivers she saw were men who had started racing as young children and had large bankrolls behind them. Erika didn't know a single person connected to the sport. Still she knew she had to try. She decided that she would rather try, and most likely fail miserably, than live always wondering "what if?".
Her journey began by cold-calling a racetrack and volunteering just to get close to the sport. Erika then started lapping her regular road car at the track's lapping nights, with the goal of one day racing competitively. That persistence led to a breakthrough in 2022, when she entered the Formula Woman International Driver Search. The competition had 1,000 drivers from 35 countries, the drivers underwent months of evaluations and elimination rounds. Much to her shock, Erika won the competition with no prior racing experience, finishing 1st overall and earning her a seat racing a McLaren 570S GT4 car in the UK's GT Cup Championship.
Since then, Erika has continued to build momentum across multiple disciplines. She represented Canada at the FIA Rally Star Final, finishing as the top North American female driver, and went on to become a Porsche race winner in her first season of Porsche Sprint Challenge North America.
In 2026, Erika stepped up to SRO GT4 America, marking her transition into multi-manufacturer GT competition. She is also the first Canadian ever selected for the Porsche Mobil 1 Female Driver Program.
Beyond her on-track results, Erika is the co-founder of Slate Racing, a female-led team focused on creating opportunities for women and underrepresented talent in motorsport. Competing as one of the few women on a predominantly male grid, she understands firsthand how limited access and representation can be. Through her work, she aims to expand access to the sport and show people of all backgrounds that they can achieve goals that once felt impossible.
